Welcome Reverend Pam France!

A Little Bit About Me

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at Valdosta State University and completed a Master’s of Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary in 1999.  I have served as Senior Pastor at Brooks United Methodist Church in Waycross, Richland UMC, Butler UMC, and as Associate Pastor at St. Mark in Columbus. During the time I was on family leave in San Jose, California, I served as a part-time assistant pastor at First Church Downtown (San Jose First UMC).  Most recently I was the Director of Spiritual Care at Magnolia Manor Columbus.

When God called me into the ministry I fought as hard as I could.  I did not believe I was worthy of God’s calling.  Eventually, I realized God is the one who qualifies those God calls.  God forgives each of us. God forgives us completely.  I gave up the battle and responded to God’s call to the ordained ministry in 1993. With the personal knowledge of God’s love and grace for the transformation of human lives, and thankful for all God had done for me, I served local churches in South Georgia with joy, spent 2 years serving God  at Magnolia Manor in Columbus, and now I am excited to be serving God at Quitman United Methodist Church.

I love music, singing and playing piano, guitar and string bass with “just enough dexterity to get by”. My daughter, Robbi, majored in music during college and played trumpet in the 283rd Military Band at Ft. Benning.  Robbi lives in Dallas, Georgia.  My 3 grandchildren keep her busy, along with her job as an LPN.  In my free time I love to read, walk, and watch NASCAR on TV.  One day I would love to see a race in person.

My ministry goals include Christian Action, Biblical Preaching and Teaching, Christ Centered Living, Growing as a Disciple of Christ, and reaching out into the community in the world with the Good News of salvation through Jesus.

In Christ,

Pastor Pam
